The project ManagMed, which will result from the study, analysis and quantification of aggravating factors by using innovative and modern methods-tools, develops a scientific model of risk indexes for the protection and management of the protected ΝΑΤURA 2000 areas in the Eastern Mediterranean. This project will provide a network between Greece, Italy and Cyprus and will also spread the know-how into the third countries Jordan and Turkey and into local environmental administrations. Thus, it will sensitize the public opinion to appreciate the negative effects in each protected area under study in order to undertake the proper managing, developing and protective measures.

The project Managmed with full official title «Integrated Development and Management of NATURA 2000 Protected Areas though Innovative Techniques in East. Mediterranean» belongs to the Community Initiative Programme Interreg IIIB Archimed and is being co-financed 75% by the European Regional Development Fund and 25% by National Funds and has total budget 1.768.500,00 €.
